BURNLEY town centre will be in full swing this weekend with a two-day entertainment extravaganza and the re-opening of Chicago Rock, the town's biggest bar.
Chicago Rock in Hammerton Street re-opens tomorrow night after a major refurbishment while just up the road the new Falcon/Kestrel Suite has also re-opened after being closed for a number of years.
A second phase of development to add a restaurant is also planned at the Falcon.
Also on Hammerton Street "The Orange House", formerly MeanCat Daddies and Genesis night clubs, is due to re-open shortly.
In addition there are plans for another two or three bars and restaurants in the town centre in the pipeline for the next six to eight months.
Lisa Durkin, town centre manager, said; "The town centre circuit is getting bigger and better as we are trying to attract new venues which appeal to a wider age group so more people will enjoy a night out in Burnley.
"Chicago Rock's restaurant and the new Falcoln bar will cater for the older market.
"Over the coming months, once the other new bars and restaurants open, Burnley will arguably be the best night out in the area. But why wait? Come and try it out this weekend."
Fun for all the family starts at the Burnley bandstand tomorrow with model Scalextric racing and a games area providing a penalty shoot-out, splat the rat, pool/snooker, golf putting and other games .
The Lancashire County Cricket Club Roadshow with Ian Austin will be outside Boots along with a bouncy castle, children's ride and face painting.
Saturday activities include a magic show, Basil Fawlty lookalike sketch, an international strongman and much more.
