A FAMILIAR face from the Fylde is to front the launch of the Royal Mail's new stamp.
Punch and Judy man Martin Scott Price has been invited to put on a performance when it is unveiled at the end of the month.
"I'm delighted," said Martin, 44, of Thornton. "It's a real honour. I haven't seen the stamp yet, but have been told it features Punch. I'm looking forward to the day."
The civil servant has been putting on Punch and Judy shows for 26 years. He started off in Morecambe where he grew up. The town's tourist board called on him to help with the celebrations which will take place next to the Eric Morecambe statue on August 29. Martin can also be seen in Fleetwood on Thursdays, Cleveleys on Fridays and Lytham St Annes on Saturdays.
