THE Darwen Branch of the British Legion needs two volunteers to give a full-time commitment for their annual Poppy Appeal.
Mrs Edith Thomas had filled this role, but she has now retired. Darwen branch secretary Mr Terry Wyre feels the work load now demands two people.
The helpers would co-ordinate the various outdoor collections, the various stalls they set up, as well as organising the distribution of boxes to schools.
The role would last throughout October and into November 11.
Mr Wyre said: "It would take all day everyday and would be ideal for someone who is retired.
"If we are lucky enough to get a couple of people Mrs Thomas would train them up so they would know exactly what they had to do."
The Poppy Appeal is the Legion's annual collection of money for ex-servicemen.
Anyone interested should call Mr Wyre on 01254 873202.
