THE 'Sting in the Tale' Fell Race is a new event after the Aggies Staircase Race fell victim to the foot and mouth restrictions.
It will be held tonight at 7:30pm from the Lychgate, Sunnyhurst Lane, Darwen.
The senior race is four miles, and a shorter junior race 'The Tower Triangle' starts at 6:45pm. Entries are accepted on the night.
The Salford Quays Aquathon on tonight is a low key informal event comprising 500m open water swim, 2.5K run, 250m open water swim and 2.5K run.
Changing facilities are at the newly opened Salford Water Sports Centre.
On Friday evening, Trafford AC are hosts to a 5K Road Race at 7:30pm, and there is also a 2.5K Fun Run at 6:30pm.
The Human Race is the title given to The Salford Quays Triathlon, which is on Sunday. Race details are posted with entry acceptances, so I'd recommend that you secure a place before travelling.
The fourth of five fund raisers for Derian House is on Saturday.
It is a 10k run on tarmac roads and firm cinder woodland trails in Worden Park in Leyland. Start is 11am, and entries on the day are welcomed.
The Cliviger Sports Repair 6M was part of the Pendle and Burnley Grand Prix, but following the demise of the series this year, the Cliviger event is a stand alone race. It starts on Sunday at 11:30am at Mount Lane Sports Ground.
The junior 2M junior race starts at 10:30am.
Dennis and Henry's Cowm Reservoir 4.2M Road and Trail Race takes place at 7:15pm on Tuesday. The Race HQ is the Cock and Magpie, Cowm Park Way with the race itself starting at Cowm Reservoir, Whitworth, near Rochdale.
Clayton Harriers are your hosts for the Tour of the Hameldons Fell Race on Tuesday evening at 7pm. Covering 6.5 miles with 1400' of ascent, it starts at the Whittakers Arms, Burnley Road in Accrington. Prizes will be on offer for runners who can correctly predict their race times.
The Horwich Jubilee Road Race Series reaches it's conclusion on Wednesday.
The last race starts at Rivington Hall Barn , Horwich at 7:30pm. Race distance is four miles.
