COLIN Barker, 23, of Fecitt Brow, Blackburn, was fined £170 with £55 costs by Blackburn magistrates and disqualified from driving for two years after pleading guilty to driving with excess alcohol, without insurance and otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
The court heard that Barker gave a reading of 79 against the legal limit of 35 when he was stopped by police in the early hours of Sunday.
Roger Pickles, defending, said Barker had a provisional licence and insurance in his own name but this was not valid if he was not driving in accordance with his licence.
Barker agreed to be referred to the drink drivers rehabilitation programme which, if completed successfully, will reduce his ban by up to 25 per cent.
