SPORTING youngsters netted extra cash for a North West organisation with a charity football tournament.
More than 60 senior and junior teams from across the North West pitched in at the second annual event which was held at Witton Park, Blackburn, in aid of Christies Against Cancer.
The tournament, which raised £1,500, was first held in memory of Mohammed Feroze, 60, from Little Harwood, who died from lung cancer two years ago.
Mohammed's son, Javaid, said he was pleased with the amount of money collected and added: "It rained all day, but everyone had a good time. Hopefully, next year we'll raise even more."
The money is due to be presented to representatives from the East Lancashire Branch at Jans Conference Centre, Blackburn, on Thursday August 16.
