OLD friendships were renewed and many new ones fostered during the latest trip to Bury's French twin town of Tulle.
Around 30 people from Bury's Community Twinning Association made the journey.
They stayed with French families and a hectic schedule of events was laid on by their hosts.
These included a full day excursion into the Dordogne and a half-day trip to the nearby Monedieres area which included a meal of locally-grown whimberries with apple juice.
But it wasn't all fun and games. A morning was spent at the headquarters of the Conseil General, similar to a county council, where the guests learned a great deal about French administration.
An added bonus for the visitors was that the Tour de France passed through Tulle and the Bury contingent said it was a great and new experience for them.
A return visit from Tulle to Bury is planned for next Easter.
