BURY has a wealth of affluent people living in the borough.
And Bury has emerged as the fifth most "affluential" area in the North West, according to figures released this week.
Research by Barclays Private Clients, the wealth management section of Barclays, showed that 2.03 per cent of the borough's population can be classed as "affluential" as they earn more than £60,000 a year.
And the statistics also revealed that 4.59 per cent of the borough's affluential people were aged under 30.
Not surprisingly, Cheshire tops the league of wealth followed by Trafford, Warrington and Stockport.
Bury is in fifth spot in the region when it comes to the area where "affluentials" are choosing to live.
John Church, of Barclays, said: "The trends in the young affluentials are very interesting because they indicate where the next up and coming areas are likely to be.
"Obviously, places like Trafford and Warrington are on the up, with Cheshire hanging on to its reputation for being a wealthy area."
