MAY I, through the pages of your paper, say how delighted I was to have won the vacant seat with a resounding victory at the recent Windle Parish Council by-election following the sudden death of Stan Magowan, who served the people of Windle parish so well for so many years.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to the people of Windle who have put their faith in me and voted for me. I hope I will be able to live-up to the trust you have shown. I promise to try to serve you well, both my voters and my non-voters alike, in the same manner as Stan did.
May I also mention my opponent, Mr Geoff Almond, who was very dignified in defeat.
A special thanks to all the members of the St Helens North Conservative Association who helped to make my campaign such a success.
Windle Parish Councillor Ken Roughley, Rainford Road.
