THE following people have made contact through our website, looking for old friends and memories of their towns and villages:
USA reader Barbara Pachanowski (Martah007@iname.com) loves the Journal website.
She said: "What a lovely way to stay in touch with Leigh. After so many years of living in the US, I had the pleasure of returning to Leigh to visit old friends. Unfortunately, it was all to brief. But my fond memories of the area remain, and I can catch up on the news on your website."
Ex-pat Peggy Adams (madam1@bigpond.com) said: " I was born in Leigh and have been living in Australia now for 35 years. I have passed the address on to many other Lancastrians who, in turn, have passed it on to their friends.
"I still have family in Leigh who I am in contact with often, but it is so nice to be able to link on to thisislancashire.co.uk and read about all the changes to the town, the people, and all the weekly news that normally we would not get being so far away.
"Please keep up this Lancashire site, it is always a pleasure to link on to
it and read up on everything.
"Thank you so much for bringing so much pleasure to people like me."
Legionnaire Stuart Cox writes: "I've spent the past 16 years in the French Foreign Legion and would like to get in touch with anyone who remembers me form Lowton High School, to say 'hello' after all this time. Stuart Cox stuart.cox@net-up.com
