IT is just 24 hours before this year's Bury Times Newspaper Group's Bride of the Year says "I do".
Miss Joanne Turner (25), of Clyde Road, Radcliffe, will tie the knot with Craig Davenport (24) at Christ Church, Ainsworth, on Saturday (Aug 11) in a ceremony conducted by the Rev Nick Grayshon.
"I'm a bit stressed at the moment but I'm looking forward to it," said Joanne.
It was back in February at the Bury Times Spring Bridal Spectacular that Joanne discovered she had won a fairytale wedding. She was one of eight finalists chosen by our readers and an independent panel of judges in the glittering event at the Bolholt Country Park. Joanne, who is a full-time mum to the couple's two-year-old daughter, Hannah, won herself a facial from Revival of Walshaw, hair-styling by Studio Renaissance of Bury, wedding photographs by Vicky Leanne Photography, a Cant head-dress and tiara and flowers from Because I Love You of Farnworth. John Francis provided the bridegroom's suit.
"I've got something old, something new and something blue, I've just got to sort out something borrowed," laughed Joanne.
She is also obeying tradition by making sure Craig, a gas-fitter, does not see her before the wedding.
"I'll be chucking him out on the Friday night and he will be staying at his gran's."
Joanne will arrive at the church in a white Daimler with her proud father, Mr Stephen Turner. Her mother, Margaret, will spend the morning helping her sort out the bridesmaids and ensuring that Hannah, who is the flower girl, looks her best.
"We were a bit worried when we found out that Ainsworth Village Day would be on the same day, but the organisers have assured us that the DJ, fair and quad bikes will be toned down during the service," said a relieved Joanne.
Following the 1.30pm marriage ceremony, there will be an afternoon reception for 45 at The Moat House, Bolton, followed by an evening reception for 120 people.
The couple will honeymoon in Wales.
