THE owner of a cat sanctuary today appealed for new owners to come forward and rehome some of her older residents.
Maureen Savage, who runs Moggies, in Darwen, is currently looking after 19 kittens and eight young adult cats and said she is having trouble finding new homes for them.
Maureen said she was not overly concerned about finding homes for the kittens, who will be ready to leave the sanctuary in three weeks time, but people did not often look twice at the older cats.
She said: "All the adult cats are under two years old and have a lot of life in the but nobody is ever interested in them when there are all these kittens.
"The kittens go out without any problems at all but the others are in here a lot longer.
"It's such a shame for them," she added.
If you think you could offer any of the cats a home telephone Maureen on 01254 708171.
