BUS travel is being made easier with user-friendly signs.

First Manchester and First North Western, the regional bus and train operating companies of First Group, is helping customers and taking local transport integration a step further, with the introduction of new bus signs at railway stations across the region.

The new signs are being put up to help customers leaving the train find the bus stops they need outside the rail stations, in order to make the connections to complete their journey.

First Manchester divisional commercial director Russell Gard said: "Everyone agrees that as part of the aim to attract more car users on to public transport, the journey experience has to be made as easy as possible. These new signs will ensure that customers leaving the train can go straight to the bus stop they need and so speed their journey."

First North Western customer services manager Martin MacKenzie said: "We are very pleased to be able to work with our colleagues at First Manchester, and hope that customers will benefit greatly from this joint initiative."
