CHARITY champions are appealing for help on a fund-raising pedal-car run from Lands End to John O'Groats.
The Great Samaritan's Purse-Operation Christmas Child event, which provides little boxes of happiness for children in Eastern Europe, needs back-up for the ride.
Tyldesley organiser for the charity, Wyn Davies, of Squires Lane, will be one of the support drivers on the 850-mile route, which starts on August 19.
But he's looking for help, especially when the party passes through the area on day four, the 103-mile Lancaster to Wrexham stretch of the journey.
This takes in Wigan, Platt Bridge, Abram, Golborne and across the A580 to Winwick and Warrington.
He said: "We need more fit men or women to travel the whole way, or to join us on the day we pass through their part of the country.
"Also needed are van drivers and support staff, overnight accommodation to provide cooking and toilet facilities, and floor space for sleeping up to 13 people, cheerers, and sponsors.
"Any amount from 10p to £1m would be gratefully received!"
Anyone who can help should contact Andy Smith on 07831 196217.
