A SEVENTEEN-year-old youth was subjected to a vicious assault as he walked along Burtonhead Road, St Helens, at about 11.30pm on Saturday, July 21.
The victim was approached by three 15 year-old youths who used the legs from an ironing board to hit him several times on the arm, legs and head.
As the teenager tried to run away the youths hit him on the legs again before he eventually made his escape in the direction of The Phoenix Public House.
The victim was taken to Whiston Hospital where he was treated for bruising to his legs, lumps on his head and various scratch marks on his body.
One of the offenders is described as white, 5ft 4ins tall, with black spiky hair and was wearing a green Addidas tracksuit.
