MORE local people now have the chance to walk their way to a better lifestyle as the Borough's Get Yourself Lively walking programme is being extended.
Three new walks - at Rainhill, Sankey Valley, Newton, and Sankey Valley at Blackbrook - have been added to the programme. Organised by the Council's Health promotion Team and St Helens and Knowsley Health Promotion Service, the short walks of between one and three miles are suitable for regular walkers as well as people who want to take up exercise following an illness or to maintain or improve their health.
This month's walks are as follows:
Friday, August 10: Bold Moss 2pm. Meeting point - St Cuthbert's RC High School, Berrys Lane.
Tuesday, August 14: Rainhill 7pm. Meeting point - Manor Farm Car Park, Mill Lane.
Thursday, August 16: Newton 7pm. Meeting point - Sankey Valley Car Park.
Wednesday, August 22: Newton 2pm.
Monday, August 27: Bold Moss 2pm.
Wednesday, August 29: Newton 11am.
