LANCASHIRE County Council are helping war heroes--young and old--to claim their war disablement pension from the Department of Social Security.
A new edition of the 'Ill or Injured in the Forces' leaflet has been launched.
County Councillor Niki Penney, cabinet member for communications and information, said: "Anyone with a disability or condition linked to past service in the forces may have a claim. Your service need not have been during wartime. You may been injured during National Service or playing sport at a base. This leaflet gives gives lots of examples of the kinds of people who may qualify."
Copies of the leaflet are available from libraries, county information centres and welfare rights offices or by writing to Lancashire County Council, Welfare Rights Service, FREEPOST, Preston PR1 8BR.
