A 69-YEAR-OLD man has appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with four offences of indecently assaulting teenage girls.
William Murdoch, of Ailsa Road, Blackburn, is charged in connection with two girls aged 14 and one aged 15. One offence, involving two of the girls, is alleged to have occurred at his flat, another at an empty flat, one, again involving two of the girls, on the canal bank, and the fourth involving two girls in a grassed area near Audley.
A prosecution request for a three week adjournment, so that both sides could view the girls' video interviews, was not resisted by defence solicitor Basharat Ditta.
Murdoch was bailed until August 31 on condition that he does not allow girls under the age of 16 into his home or any other home where he may be and that he does not contact the three girls named in the charges.
