YOUNGSTERS over ten years old are being invited to audition for a Christmas production of Oscar Wilde's 'The Selfish Giant' and other tales.
It will be Burnley Youth Theatre's biggest show of the year and will be staged at Burnley Mechanics in December.
Wilde wrote the tales chosen for the production for his own children. Purely selfish, 'The Selfish Giant' will form the main story.
The story tells the tale of children who used to play in the Selfish Giant's garden every day until one day he built a high wall around it.
It is a timeless tale of the unrepentant giant who discovers joy in sweet music, blossom on the trees and love for others.
The performance will be on from December 16-19 and young actors may need time off school, college or work.
Many of the performances for schools have already sold out, but there are a few tickets left for group bookings.
There will also be three public shows.
But you'll have to act quick if you want to get involved in the production.
All young people are being made welcome to go along to Burnley Youth Theatre's Quarry Theatre on Wednesday from 6.30-8.30pm for ten-13 year olds and on Thursday from 7-9pm for those over 14.
Anyone interested who can't attend the auditions can contact 01282 427767 for further information.
