PENDLE Council has named Mrs Maud Bancroft of Brierfield as the first winner of the Loyalty Shopping Scheme at the Admiral's Market Place in Nelson.
The scheme was launched on Monday, July 2 and aims to reward loyal shoppers while encouraging new customers to shop at the indoor market in Leeds Road.
Mrs Bancroft, who won a colour TV, said: "A television as a prize and reward for my loyalty for shopping within the
indoor market is great. I hope this will encourage more people to shop within the indoor market and I look forward to entering more draws in the future."
Iain Wharton, Manager of The Admiral's Market Place, said: "To have more than 70 entries in the first month of the scheme which fell in the middle of the July holidays is very encouraging.
"Both traders and shoppers have embraced the scheme, which is designed to reward our loyal customers."
Anyone shopping at the indoor market will be given a loyalty card on which they have to get 18 stamps from any of the 35 stalls on the market.
Traders will stamp the card for each purchase made (one purchase per day from each of the stalls is allowed). Once the card is completed with 18 stamps, shoppers must answer a very simple question on the card and then leave it with one of the traders.
Winners will be contacted direct and will be posted on the market's Loyalty Scheme Board, which is just inside the Leeds Road entrance of the market.
The draw is supported by the electrical shop, Gregory's, on Scotland Road, Nelson.
