A TWO-YEAR-OLD child suffered head injuries after breaking free from her mother's hand and running into the path of a Ford Transit van, in Harrison Drive, Colne, yesterday.
Sergeant Russ Gregory said: "The girl was very, very fortunate that the van was only doing about 15 miles per hour."
Kadi-Leigh Hunt, of Slater Avenue, was today being treated in Burnley General Hospital, where her injuries were said not to be life threatening.
Van driver Paul Williams, 35, of Lowerhouse Lane, Burnley, was not injured.
