EIGHTY-NINE-year-old Rotarian Jack Farraday has received a letter of congratulations from the Queen for his long service with the organisation.
A celebration dinner was held by Bury Rotary Club in honour of Jack who has notched up more than 50 years continuous service.
Guests at the meal, held at Walshaw Sports Club, included the Mayor of Bury Coun Paul Nesbit, and the Rev Gerald Higham, district governor of Rotary District 1280.
Mr Farraday has been involved with many organisations, including Bury Hospice. Rotarian Harry Driver commented: "The motto of the Rotary Club is service above self, and Jack was born to serve. He is kind, generous and dedicated."
