A BEAUTY clinic was on the right wavelength to gain maximum publicity.
For popular Key 103 disc jockey Mike Toolan presented his morning show from Acacia Beauty and Nail Clinic in Bolton Road, Bury.
And if the pressure of presenting such a three-hour was getting too much for Mike, he had the perfect opportunity to get rid of his stress: staff gave him reflexology and a shoulder massage to ease his aches and pains during the broadcast.
Acacia, which opened in May, was selected as the broadcast venue after donating £1,000 to Manchester Children's Charity. Half of Thursday's (Aug 9) takings will also go to the same good cause. Acacia, which employs five staff, is run by Sarah McDonald whose mum, Alice, helped out during the broadcast. Alice said: "We were busy all morning with lots of clients."
This summer, Key 103 organised a holiday competition outing to Ibiza for 200 listeners. But the only one who didn't return was Acacia's Susan Mather! "She's hoping to get a job out there," said Alice.
