A SINGING career is hotting up for sunbed salon receptionist Shula Goldstone.

For the talented 22-year-old, who works in her parent's shop, Sundays Solarium in Bury New Road, Prestwich, is releasing her debut pop single in October.

The former Bury Grammar School pupil has dreamed of becoming a pop star since she first sang karaoke on holiday at the age of 12.

And after answering a magazine advertisement for female singers, Shula has now clinched a three-album deal with the WEA (Warner Entertainment Agency) record company.

Shula, who lives in Blackley, impressed the scouts so much with her demo tape that even when she couldn't make the London auditions they invited her to Germany for the weekend. "By the end of the weekend I had recorded two singles, including my debut, Breathless, which I wrote the lyrics to," said Shula, who has had to change her image to match her new career by dyeing her hair red and adopting a new name, Shula Stone.

She added: "It's a dream come true. This is what I have always wanted to do. I have done gigs before but this was like "wow". WEA have got loads of famous clients, my parents are so proud and everyone has been really nice."

The stunning singer, who also works as a nail technician, will shoot the video to accompany the European dance tune next month and cannot wait for the single's release.

She said: "I have still been working at my parent's solarium, just filling in, but I can't wait for things to get going now.

"I'd love to make it over here and in America. I just want to do as well as I can."
