AN AMATEUR archaeologist from Darwen is to reveal a theory about the Inca Empire he thinks will astound the professionals.
Alexander Newbigging, of Alfred Street, will give a one hour talk at Top Conservative Club, Northcote Street, Darwen, on Thursday, in which he promises to shatter traditional opinion about how the Incas constructed their jigsaw like walls.
His discovery -- which he is keeping secret until Thursday -- follows years of work in South America as an enthusiast.
"I just want normal people to come along and enjoy it," he said. "I will explain something that nobody else has been able to explain. Nobody has thought of this before. What I have found is amazing."
Mr Newbigging wants to reveal his theory before somebody beats him to it. He is hoping that this talk will get professors interested, although he has already had meetings with officials from Manchester University.
The talk starts at 7.45pm and is free. The club can accommodate 90 people, so Mr Newbigging wants anybody interested in attending to ring him on 01254 707854 and book a place.
