DARWEN won their last pre-season friendly of the summer against Preston Sunday League champions Arkwrights.
Darwen went ahead through an Andy Walsh penalty on 25 minutes.
Arkwrights, whose side includes a number of UniBond League players, equalised through Mark Egan before Denny Khan put Darwen back in front after jinking past a number of players and slotting home.
Darwen manager Steve Wilkes scored the third with a simple tap-in after more good work from Khan and Arkwrights pulled one back at the death through Paul McMenemy.
Wilkes is still looking for new players for the coming season, namely a central defender.
