THE headteacher of a special school, who was suspended over allegations that he mis-used school computer equipment, is expected to be officially reinstated this week.
Mr Bernard Emblem was removed from his post at Millwood Primary School by the governing body on May 17 while education chiefs investigated the allegations of "management irregularities". At a disciplinary hearing on Friday, three governors of the Fletcher Fold Road school, taking advice from an LEA representative, recommended that Mr Emblem be reinstated.
Governors are expected to approve the decision at another meeting tonight.
Mrs Julie Goulding, Bury Council's director of personal and community services, said: "As with any allegations made against staff, the local authority takes its responsibilities very seriously.
"Hence, following a full investigation under the school's appropriate procedures, and after considered analysis of the facts, it has been decided that Mr Emblem will be returning to his duties.
"As following any serious issue we will, of course, be continuing to monitor the situation for the foreseeable future."
Mr Emblem has been headteacher of Millwood, which caters for around 80 youngsters with either moderate or severe learning difficulties, since 1991.
During his absence, deputy headteacher Mrs Joan Hall took over his role at the school.
