IMUST dispute Mr T Jones' claim that Alex Higgins was a 'greater' snooker player than Dennis Taylor (Letters, August 10).
Certainly, at times, the snooker of Alex Higgins was that of a genius, but his dress and conduct left a lot to be desired.
Whereas Dennis, both at and away from the table, was always the gentleman.
He had everything that made a great champion; Alex had not.
In clubs and venues all over Britain and the rest of the world, Dennis was a worthy ambassador for Blackburn and he still lives here.
Apparently, all the notable people displayed on the station mural have either never lived in Blackburn or have left when they became successful.
Those responsible for the mural should admit they have no idea what goes on in Blackburn and have a re-think.
A SEDGWICK (Mr), Lyndhurst Avenue, Blackburn.
