POLICE investigating an alleged racial attack in Burnley today said more arrests were "inevitable."
Four people were arrested early yesterday at addresses in Burnley, Nelson and Colne.
The men were taken to Burnley police station for questioning and were later released on police bail pending further inquiries.
Det Sgt Peter Simm said police wanted to speak to other men and that more arrests were inevitable in the next few days.
Two men previously arrested have also been released on police bail as investigations continue.
Detectives are investigating two incidents at the Bands In The Park event in Queens Park, Burnley, on Sunday, July 29.
It is alleged that an Asian man was attacked by a gang of white men.
Shortly afterwards at about 6.20pm Shamraz Hussain, 22, of Stoneyholme, Burnley, was allegedly attacked in Queen Victoria Road.
He suffered severe bruising to his head, face and body and was detained in hospital for three days.
Police still want information about a red Vauxhall Nova involved in a minor accident at the attack scene.
Det Insp Tony Bolton said racist thuggery would not be tolerated in the police Pennine Division.
