A MAN has been remanded in custody after being charged in connection with a knife attack on a Darwen mother.
Estranged husband Aledwyn Jones, 43, of Richmond Terrace, Darwen, was arrested by detectives in the South of England on Saturday night.
He was quizzed by detectives at Blackburn police station and charged with making threats to kill, aggravated burglary and a breach of bail relating to an earlier incident.
He appeared before Blackburn magistrates where he spoke only to confirm his name and address. No application for bail was made.
The charges follow an incident in Richmond Terrace, Darwen at about 3am on Thursday when mother Anna Jones was allegedly threatened by a man with a knife in front of her three young children.
Jones will appear before Preston Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on Wednesday, August 22.
