MORE than £500,000 is to be spent improving minor roads in Blackburn and Darwen.
A list of roads due for repair will be presented to a meeting of the executive committee tomorrow .
The streets have been selected either because they are due for repair or because faults have been spotted by inspectors touring the area's roads in preparation for installing new cycle lanes.
Repairs to the carriageway, footpath and kerbs will be carried out.
Total cost of the scheme is £550,600 -- with up to £56,600 being spent on certain stretches of roads.
Roads affected include: Calgary Avenue, Blackburn; Ribble Avenue, Darwen; Belthorn Road, Belthorn; Gleneagles Avenue, Hoddlesden; Glenshiels Avenue, Hoddlesden; Pole Lane, Darwen; Gib Lane, Blackburn; Meadow Rise, Blackburn; Queensway, Blackburn; Chapeltown Road, Turton; Tockholes Road, Tockholes; Queen's Park Road, Blackburn; North Bank Avenue, Blackburn; Openshaw Drive, Blackburn; Ramsgreave Drive, Blackburn; Charlotte Street, Blackburn; Winterton Road, Darwen; Billinge End Road, Blackburn.
A council spokesman said: "Residents affected will be informed a fortnight before about the works and will be asked afterwards how the repairs went."
