IWOULD like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of our first Wishbone Orthopaedic Walk held at Witton Park, Blackburn, on Sunday June 24.
To all members of the organising committee, friends and colleagues who helped on the day, Sally Naden from BBC Radio Lancashire, the Mayor of Ribble Valley and her consort, all our generous sponsors and, of course, the wonderful walkers and their families -- approximately 500 -- a big thank-you.
It was a great thrill for the orthopaedic team to see all those ex-patients aged from two to 86 raising funds for local orthopaedic research by walking as much of the mile as they could.
Our expected financial goal was far exceeded and, as we approach £10,000, money still continues to arrive.
PAULINE McCARTNEY (Mrs), Superintendent Physiotherapist (Wishbone Orthopaedic Walk organising secretary), Blackburn Royal Infirmary.
