WHEN you hear the word hypnosis, you may picture the mysterious hypnotist figure popularised in movies, comic books and television.
This ominous, goateed man waves a pocket watch back and forth, guiding his subject into a semi-sleep, zombie-like state.
This theory is old and has been researched rigorously for about 100 years, so I decided to find out for myself how hypnosis actually works. I found a fascinating site that had me captivated for hours. The website had all kinds of information about how they hypnotise their subjects as well as explanations and pictures to help you understand. The website not only covers hypnosis it has handy information on just about how anything and everything works.
So if your child is forever asking questions like 'how does television work?' then log onto www.howstuffworks.com and it will come up with all the answers you need.
