ANTHONY Keenan's first round tie at the British Amateur Boys Championships almost descended into chaos after his Spanish opponent took a practice swing that Keenan Senior didn't consider a practice swing!
Anthony's dad Steve was sure he saw Jorge Cantera's ball move as the teenager took a practice shot in the rough on the 16th.
But as there was not a referee at each match, the Spaniard 'got away with it'.
"My dad caused a bit of controversy," said the 18-year-old Burnley player.
"I was on the fairway waiting for him to chip it out of the rough and my dad said he'd taken three shots because he had a practice swing and the ball moved.
"We both made five but if that swing had counted he would have been six.
"I was two down at the time so that would have taken it to one down.
"But when Dad called the nearest referee over it was our word against theirs so we just had to carry on."
But Keenan was philosophical about the situation.
"I didn't deserve to win anyway. I had a couple of chances to get it back but I didn't."
He is now looking forward to a trip to Sea Island, Georgia, for the Daily Telegraph/Center Parcs Junior Championships.
"I got my letter yesterday morning saying I was in the top five but I won't find out if I am going for sure until next Monday."
