CLUBBERS can enjoy a bank holiday carnival of Latin sounds on Sunday, August 26 at Blackpool's Blue nightclub, Corporation Street.
The club is hosting a fund-raising Cuba Night from 9pm-2am, featuring the best of Latin jazz, soulful Brazilian rhythms, furious jazz-funk cuts and more from DJs Shaboom and Pete Haigh and guest DJs. The evening has been organised by members of Preston and Fylde Cuba Solidarity Campaign, with ticket proceeds funding emergency medical supplies for Cuba.
Spokesman Jon Baugh said the event was more than a salsa night. "There will be salsa dancers there, but it is going to be a dance orientated night with a bias towards a more Latin style of music. It's going to be a mix of age groups from students right up to older people who used to go to The Mecca. It's going to be a great night."
Tickets costing £6 are available in Blackpool from: Reef, Birley St; Blueberries, Topping St; Records and Relics, Caunce St; Melody House, Bond St; Rose and Crown, Corporation St; and from Poulton at Thai Mews restaurant, and from Hushh, Queens Square and Kabuki clothes, Tithebarn St. Visit www.prestonandfyldecsc.fs net. co.uk for more details.
