ONE of Briefield's main employers, Trojan Products Ltd, is shutting up shop and moving to new premises in Clayton-le-Moors.
The company, which makes glass reinforced plastic products, is currently based at Lob Lane Mill, in Clitheroe Road, but as from the first week in September the building will stand empty.
It is being offered for sale at around £500,000 by Blackburn estate agents Taylor and Weaver.
Trojan, which took over from its predecessor Glasdon last March, will be run from the former Callender Aeropart Ltd site in Clayton-le-Moors.
Managing director of Trojan, Malcolm Heyworth, said: "All employees have been invited to continue their employment at the Clayton-le-Moors site which most of them have taken us up on with a few of the older ones taking retirement instead.
"Our main reason for moving is that we have just got a very large contract and we need to have our production under one roof.
"We can't do that here because it is a massive factory with various floors. We are moving to a custom-built unit."
