MANAGER Steve McMahon was still angry this week following the Seasiders' defeat.
Speaking to the official website, McMahon said: "It's a disappointing start to the season, losing the first game, especially at home. I was upset because we didn't really look that inferior to Reading. It was just down to individual mistakes."
About new players McMahon said "Of course we are still looking and I'm hoping to bring someone in as soon as possible."
Speaking to the press after the game on Saturday, McMahon stressed the importance of hard work saying that Reading had shown this and would be promotion candidates again.
"They have some players who are prepared to work hard," said McMahon.
"We've got to make sure we do the same. I keep stressing that great players don't just play football they also work hard.
"I don't think we showed a work ethic from the start. They did and stopped us playing, but I still think we could have won it."
