WHEN it comes to team spirit Burnley's first foes at Turf Moor this term have it in abundance.
Wimbledon built up their reputation as the "Crazy Gang" as they made a stunning rise from non-League status to FA Cup winners back in 1988 before then consolidating themselves as a top flight club.
However, Clarets boss Stan Ternent is certain that his side have the same kind of team strength going into tomorrow's clash.
"While there are no longer the likes of Vinnie Jones or Alan Cork about the place Wimbledon are a club with a spirit of togetherness," said Ternent.
"The 'Crazy Gang' era is part of the history of their club and the current team will have inherited that.
"But Burnley has it's own history on it's own traditions and different clubs inherit different things. We have our own expectations to live up to.
"You have to respect what Wimbledon have done. They came from nowhere to become a feared Premiership side and their boss Terry Burton has been a big part of that.
"His side now contains a lot of lads who have been brought up through the club and they will be a team who can do well this season."
The Clarets completed the double over the Dons last season, winning 1-0 at Turf Moor early in the season before a 2-0 success at Selhurst Park, but Ternent wasn't too interested in what had gone before.
"We did well when we beat them early last season and obviously the win there is still fresh in our minds," he said.
"But it will be fresh in their minds too and I am sure they will want to turn us over.
"We are playing with confidence at the moment, they are going well and it has the makings of a very good Saturday afternoon's football."
Dons coach Stewart Robson is expecting a tough battle at Turf Moor as the Londoners seek to build on a 3-1 opening day win at home to Birmingham City.
"It will be slightly different, Burnley play with a different shape and I don't think that they will be quite as positive as Birmingham," said Robson.
"They don't hit balls forward quite as early and they don't throw as many men upfield.
"They are quite defensive minded and we must break them down if we are to win but at the same keep things tight at the back and not give away an early goal.
"If we can get a result up there we will need to be at the very top of our game."
And defender Chris Wilmott echoed those thoughts.
"Burnley are a strong side, particularly at home, and they had a good result last week at Sheffield Wednesday so they will be confident," he said. "We felt we didn't play as well as we can against Birmingham.
"We can pass the ball better as we showed against Northampton and Brentford in pre-season, where we dominated. When we get it right we look good."
DONS (possible): Davis, Darlington, Williams, Wilmott, Kimble, Neilsen, Ardley, Roberts, Cooper, Shipperley, Connolly.
