A SIX-year-old in his first season of moto-cross racing is in third position in his club's championship table.
Daniel Brown, who attends St John's School at Hindley Green, has been riding bikes since the age of three and joined Newton-Le-Willows Moto-cross Club this year.
One of the youngest in the six to nine-year-olds group, Daniel has won nine trophies since the season began in February.
Daniel attends races around the country riding his Husqvarna 50 bike in the auto 50cc races. He is currently in third position competing out of 25 competitors.
His dad, Darren, also used to race and spotted his son's potential at an early age.
Darren proudly said: "We put him on a bike when he was two and he was able to cope without stabilisers straight away. His sense of balance was unbelievable."
Because of his tender years Daniel can only compete in club championships, but is already looking forward to competing in the national championships when he reaches the ripe old age of eight.
