A GRANDMOTHER who crashed her car on the way to a wedding couldn't believe it when her SON stepped out of the vehicle she had hit.
Rose Shaw was travelling to see her granddaughter, Stephanie, in the role of flower girl at a Tyldesley Parish Church wedding, when the collision took place.
She had left her Cannon Street home on Saturday afternoon driving her X-reg Nissan Almera, unaware that her son, Karl, of the same address, was also on his way to the church in his company's Y-reg Vauxhall Astra.
She said: "I didn't see the car at all, and when it happened the first thing I noticed was that the other car was green -- I've never liked green cars."
But when 32-year-old Karl stepped out of the car his mum was astonished!
"I couldn't believe it. Of all the cars in Tyldesley I bumped into my own son! It must be a one in a million chance." Karl was equally speechless. "It was so out of the blue, I was lost for words."
Ironically, in the aftermath of the collision neither Rose nor Karl managed to see six-year-old Stephanie in her starring role.
