EARLESTOWN entertained Mossley Hill at Earle Street and with a good performance took the victory to stay top of the West Lancs League.
The visitors were asked to bat and lost an early wicket, then R Hughes (42) held the innings together as the batsmen were never allowed to settle, this due to some fine catches at key moments and tight bowling by the bowlers used.
The total reached 121 when Williams (5-24) bowled Fazakerly with the last ball.
Tea taken Town lost G Davidson (5) early, then D Ashton (32) and L Lomas (50) combined well to put on 71, the youngsters 50 containing a fine array of strokes, the home side reached their target of 122 with 5 wickets remaining.
The juniors finished an impressive season with a win over an under strength St Helens Recs side.
Batting first Earlestown hit 138-4, J Goode (77) top scored aided by R Jones (23) and L Lomas (21).
In reply Recs never looked capable of chasing the total as Lomas interchanged his bowlers.
A Kerslake (2-3) producing some good spin bowling as everybody bar the keeper was given the chance to turn their arm.
