Mr Moore's letter to The Citizen (August 9), states that the United Kingdom is part of Europe not apart. He obviously believes that a Federal Europe would be good for its people and, make no mistake, this is what is now being constructed.
Europe will be one big country from Malta in the south, to Latvia in the north, from Ireland in the west, to Poland in the east, with no internal borders or frontiers and one Government.
I myself believe this is a recipe for disaster. For instance, if we give up our currency in favour of the euro, this would then become irreversible. As for Mr Moores great advantages that we enjoy from the European Union like equal pay, safety at work and sex discrimination, I think that our Government could have thought those up, without the help of Brussels. After all, the Westminster Government once ruled a third of the world from London. What advantages we get from Europe are certainly outweighed by the disadvantages, such as the £30million per day that we pay into the European union, down to the law that forbids you to put a Union Jack on your car number plate.
