DAVE Whittle's temporary move to Super League neighbours Warrington Wolves has gone through with the full blessing of Leigh Centurions' head coach Paul Terzis.

The Leigh and Wales prop has gone to Wilderspool on loan until the end of the Super League season before returning to Hilton Park.

Whittle is expected to make his Wolves debut tonight when Warrington take on Wigan at the JJB Stadium.

Terzis says that the move is a good one for his front-line prop who will benefit from full-time training and being in a Super League environment.

Whittle isn't the only Hilton Park star wanted by Super League clubs on temporary basis.

St Helens, Warrington and Salford all fancied taking top try scorer Neil Turley on loan but Leigh feel that their star turn would benefit more from a period of rest and intensive pre-season with the Centurions. Liam Bretherton and Dave Bradbury have also been eyed up by Super League clubs.

Leigh's plans for next season are being held up until the RFL's Strategic Document is published. They are anxious to discover what promotion and relegation plans are in place, league structures and the time scale of the new season.

Team strengthening plans have been put on hold because of a serious illness to Terzis's mother. She suffered a stroke while on a family day out in York last week and is still in hospital. Terzis has since been dividing his time between Leigh and York.

But Leigh are being linked with moves for Wigan Alliance back rower Andy Isherwood, Bradford Bulls' forward Rob Parker and Workington Town's Aussie prop Matt Sturm The Leigh-based Bulls star is currently on loan with London Broncos while Sturm, who is off the overseas quota, is highly-rated by Terzis.
