BLACKBURN'S Arts in the Park festival could become one of the biggest events on the musical calendar.
That is the message from the councillor involved with the event, Ashley Whalley.
More than 40,000 people flocked to the event which saw the like of Bliss, Scenario, Dustfly, Voulez Vous and The Reserved performing in Corporation Park.
The event ran across two days and catered for all kinds of musical tastes and provided several bands with their first multi-thousand audiences.
Speaking at a council meeting last week, Coun Whalley said: "The event was a tremendous success and it will keep growing.
"It will become one of the biggest events on the musical calendar, certainly in the North West."
