SOUNESS has quashed talk in the national Press suggesting he's being lined up as a possible successor to Bobby Robson at Newcastle United.
A story in one of yesterday's tabloids claimed Souness was top of the Geordie's hit-list when Robson finally calls it a day.
But the Ewood boss insists he is perfectly happy at Ewood and wants to see out the remaining years of his contract.
"I've not been contacted by anyone from Newcastle United so I know nothing about it whatsoever," said Souness.
"I'm very happy with the job I've got and it's my intention to stay here and see out my contract.
"We are just starting down a road which could be exciting for us and I want to be part of that.
"So I'm happy with the club, I'm happy with the people I'm working for and I'm happy with whom I'm working with."
