PENDLE Farmers' Market has returned the first time since the twice-monthly event in Colne and Nelson was stopped due to foot and mouth disease.
The market is normally staged every 1st Saturday in the month in Nelson town centre
and every 3rd Saturday in the month in Colne at the Outdoor Market.
Stalls were selling a wide variety of produce such as cheese, lamb, eggs, yoghurt, ice-cream and sausages.
Sellers at the market must be the producer or work in production on the farm in order to take part.
The farmers' market will also be staged in Nelson, on Saturday September 1, as part of
Nelson Food Festival, on the Place de Creil.
The local health authority and North West Fine Foods supported the re-launch.
Dieticians from the Pendle Sure Start Project were be on hand to provide advice on children's diets, diabetes, cholesterol and heart disease.
Ian Varley, Markets Manager at Colne, said: "We had eight stalls and two others could not attend due to unforeseen circumstances.
"It is a good start for the relaunch and we are now setting off on the same basis as we started off last year. We hope to build it up from now on as more people become aware of it."
If any local producers want to get involved they should contact Mr Varley on 01282 661240.
