CHORLEY slipped further behind Northern Premier League leaders Netherfield when rain caused Saturday's match against Morecambe at Woodhill Lane to be abandoned.
The home side had struggled to 55-5 with only a few of their reduced overs left when play was halted for the first time.
Chorley professional Josh Marquet bowled superbly and at one stage had figures of 13-10-4-4 as Morecambe slumped to 18-5.
But Chorley's title hopes are now fading, as Netherfield stole a march on their Windsor Park rivals by racing to a four wickets win over Leyland Motors to move 22 points clear.
SCORECARD:
MORECAMBE 55-5
CHORLEY did not bat
Match abandoned four points each sidec
