BAD weather seriously decimated the Transco Lancashire League programme on Saturday.
Church pro James Bryant was in the runs again with an unbeaten 102 although the game against struggling Nelson was abandoned.
The South African once more struck an opening partnership with Craig Fergusson as the pair looked to do what they did the week before when they made 225 to smash the Church record stand.
But this time Fergusson fell, run out on 42 with Bryant -- who hit nine fours -- then striking up a second wicket partnership with Phil Sykes before Sykes fell to the bowling of Martin Heap on 38.
Still the trio helped Church build up a formidable target of 197-5 but they had no chance to defend the total with the rain halting proceedings.
Saturday's League leaders Bacup faced a testing challenge against Burnley as the Turf Moor side made 146-4 in the reduced 42 over game.
Openers Ben Law (46) and Ian Whitehead (47) set a hot pace for Burnley before both fell to the bowling of Bacup paid man Shaun Young.
The Australian, who will be back at Lanehead next year after signing a new contract, then took the wicket of Burnley pro Dale Benkenstein, the South African having made just three.
David Brown though then chipped in with an unbeaten 31 to give Bacup plenty to do.
Benkenstein struck early to take the wicket of Spencer but once more the heavens opened and the action was over.
Sub-pro John Glendenning, the Durham run-maker, got paid well for one catch for East Lancs against Lowerhouse.
His catch got Frank Entwistle out for six.
Lowerhouse went in to bat first and made 120-6 off 41 overs before play was abandoned.
Lowerhouse's sub-pro Mamood Farrukh made an unbeaten 31 after team-mates Chris Swift and Matt Hope -- who hit four fours -- went in quick succession after a 51-run stand.
Nas Iqbal was the star of the the East Lancs bowling show, taking four wickets for 49 runs.
The game at Rishton was abandoned after 18 second innings overs with Ramsbottom heading for a victory.
Rishton had set a target of 173 and the visitors were half-way there before the rain fell.
Rishton pro Clinton Perren had made 55 with the bat -- including seven fours and a six -- and 18-year-old Richard Rostron scored his first half-century in the league.
Perren and the teenager put on 114 for the second wicket.
Ramsbottom pro Brad Hodge was still in on 48 when the game was abandoned.
There was no joy at Todmorden where the game was in the balance when the weather struck.
Rawtenstall were 118 for five wickets, professional Matthew Mott hitting 35 and Peter Seal unbeaten on 42, but the heavens after 34 overs opened leaving both sides with just three points.
Admirable performances from professional Martin Van Jaarsveld and Liam Robinson were in vain as the spoils were shared between Haslingden and Enfield.
Jackson picked up 5-59 from 22 overs of toil while Van Jaarsveld took 4-59 from the same number of overs.
Van Jaarsveld then hit an unbeaten 50 as Enfield reached 84 for one from 21 overs before the rain intervened.
Three wickets apiece for Gary Hunt and Nick Moulding set Colne up for a likely victory at Accrington.
Tama Canning was easily the top scorer for Accrington with 51 from their total of just 92, hitting eight fours and a six.
Extras were the next highest total with 12, while Mohsin Ahmed (10) was the only other batsman to reach double figures.
Hunt was unbeaten on 10 as Colne were left on 28 for two in reply, Hussain picking up both wickets.
