A LITTLE bit of Darwen will be transmitted to Pakistan after a film crew shot a drama at the police station -- and persuaded officers to act in it.
So PC Nicki Bignell and media officer Liz Riding enjoyed a fling with fame after the director of 'Hurricane' thought they had star quality.
The two had only gone down to the station to welcome the film makers to Darwen earlier this week.
But they ended up starring alongside the established Pakistani TV stars.
And now their exploits into the world of acting for the police drama will be aired on the Pakistani TV channel 'Prime Time'.
The company made the curious decision that Darwen was the perfect location because Blackburn with Darwen Councillor Tahir Mahmood - who knew the film makers - recommended it.
And the producers liked Darwen station, which is fresh from a recent refurbishment.
'Hurricane' is a police drama that aims to educate Pakistani people on what life is like in England.
A series of films are being made in this country -- others locations used include an airport and a hospital.
The Darwen film's plot follows the story of two criminals who are arrested.
Part of the drama documents the procedures that an English police officer would go through when they arrest someone.
Liz Riding was the custody officer and greeted the felon as he gave himself up to police. Then PC Bignell stepped in and took her 15 minutes of fame.
She quizzed the actor and took details of his offence, then she arrested him, placed him in handcuffs, took him into custody and booked him in.
PC Bignell can speak a little Urdu, which came in handy as that was the language for 80 percent of the film's dialogue.
Councillor Tahir Mahmood said: "They were making a drama showing the bad and the good guys, with the English and Asian cultures.
"They were trying to show what it was like to live in England.
"I think you may be able to pick it up in England through a Pakistani digital channel.
"I just spoke to the officers and set it up.
"The film maker was a friend of mine and wanted me to organise everything.
"The makers are from Pakistan as were the actors and actress.
"They liked Darwen station because it's a nice site."
