DARWEN manager Steve Wilkes was glad to see his side come away from this game, against one of NWCL Division Two's strongest sides, with a point after they went 3-2 down on 89 minutes.
Centre half Andy Walsh completed his hat-trick on 90 to salvage a point.
Darwen were 2-0 down after 25 minutes after goals from Dave Windridge and Rick Shaw.
But the home side pulled one back five minutes into the second half from the spot through Walsh after Mark Heys had been brought down.
And 10 minutes later Walsh made it two after a short corner involving Dennis Hill and Scott Grundy.
With 90 minutes on the clock, Blackpool's Halsall scored a contender for goal of the season with a 30-yard volley.
Wilkes threw Walsh up front and he won his side another penalty seconds later, which he converted.
RESULT: DARWEN 3... BLACKPOOL MECHANICS 3...
Darwen travel to Daisy Hill tomorrow night (6.30pm ko)
